New release for control of Yellow Bristle Grass

Now available … AGPRO SABLE.

Agpro Sable contains “fenoxaprop” as the active (@69g/L) and is registered for use in autumn and spring sown barley, wheat, perennial ryegrass and pasture against YBG, wild oats and lesser canary grass.

If you are farming in the Taranaki, Waikato, South Auckland or Bay of Plenty areas and you have seen YBG in your pasture, this can be controlled effectively by Agpro Sable.

Check your roadsides as well, as this is where you will often initially see this weed. It can be difficult to identify until it produces a seed head.

Check the photo … YBG leaves are yellow/green, with a distinctive red/purple colour at the base.

YBG is a C4 summer annual grass that reproduces only by seeds. These seeds are spread by animals or machinery, and can quickly invade your pasture.

Optimal germination temperature is between 20-35C, but early germination can occur from mid-October when temperatures rise over 16C.

Applications is most areas (noted above) will be from mid-December through to mid-February.

Seed heads appear in summer, so ideally apply Agpro Sable to young plants 7 days after grazing before these seed heads develop.

No other additives / crop protection products are to be mixed with Agpro Sable.

For more information, check our website: www.agpro.co.nz  > Herbicides, and read the label.
